Jen and Brian’s wedding was on brisk October day, with early clouds giving way to a beautiful blue sky. They got ready in the heart of Boston at the Hotel Commonwealth. For Jen’s “something borrowed” she wore a diamond necklace of her mother’s, and Brian similarly wore a pair of cufflinks that had belonged to his dad. They chose to do a first look, and it was a very emotional moment for the two of them – and for all of us who witnessed it and could barely contain our tears. We then headed over to Alden Castle in Brookline for portraits and family formals. The ceremony, like the first look, was very emotional, and I loved photographing Jen and Brian and capturing the range of their experience. The reception room felt very romantic, filled with pink roses and flickering candles. The guests laughed and teared up while listening to the beautiful toasts from Brian’s brother, Jen’s friend, and their boss Ming Tsai (I think they are the eighth couple to meet and marry while working at Blue Ginger!) Jen’s parents are accomplished ballroom dancers, and opened the dance floor with a performance. While many guests followed their lead, others escaped outside to enjoy the cigar bar and crisp October night.
