Alex and Noah had a Boston meets New York, Catholic meets Jewish wedding in the Berkshires. All of the days’ festivities were at the charming Apple Tree Inn, in Lenox, MA. It was a hot and muggy day, with a 100% chance of rain. The question wasn’t if, but when, it would rain. Upon arrival, I was briefed on back-up plans; maybe the cocktail hour would be held first, or maybe the ceremony would be moved inside or under the tent, we’d just have to wait and see. To everyone’s relief, the day went as planned, with the exception of a few raindrops during the ceremony and a bit of rain late in the evening.
Alex and Noah worked hard to create a celebration filled with beauty and intention. They found a priest and a rabbi who would perform the marriage service together, and crafted an emotional ceremony that honored and incorporated elements from both of their faiths. The chuppah under which they were married was adorned with flowers, the reception tent filled with twinkle lights and stars, and the placecards were hand-painted by Alex. All of this, plus the joy of these two, along with the pride shown by their parents and friends’ dance floor moves, made for a remarkable day.
