Leah and Erik glanced at each other, and then back to me. They simultaneously uttered “He doesn’t really” – “I don’t” – “dance.” But weddings aren’t typical days. So I lingered a little longer, past when I was supposed to pack up and leave. And then the groom put on the horse mask that had been making the rounds. He danced up to the bride, and she pulled him in by the tie. And when he removed the mask, her reaction made it worth it. A memorable capstone to the night.
Leah and Erik’s wedding was at August Moon, in the Berkshires. It was one of those warm September days, that makes you think summer could last forever. These two love spending time outside in nature, so stayed true to themselves in planning for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. A nearby field with views of the mountains provided some golden hour goodness for portraits. Guests enjoyed a beautiful farm-to-table dinner under a tent with long tables decked in greenery. And for those who didn’t want to dance, bistro lights strung between the tent and a tree, and a roaring bonfire encourage guests to spend some time under the stars.
