Erin and Alex had an elegant and relaxed backyard wedding on a warm October day. They and their families are so genuine, warm, and gracious – and that spirit infused the entire day. Guests were greeted with pre-ceremony drinks and ushered to the ceremony site under the shade of the towering trees. Rather than a traditional wedding party or toasts during dinner, Erin and Alex had their parents and siblings by their sides and giving speeches during the ceremony. There was laughter and tears, and more laughter and maybe a few more tears, and hugs all around – truly one of the most touching ceremonies I’ve had the privilege of documenting. With nightfall came the rain, so everyone piled into the tent and packed the dance floor. Erin – a self-proclaimed non-dancer – even took a few turns on the dance floor.
Special thanks go to Lo McShay of LoLo Event Design for the beautiful design and superior organization, and Emily Zilm, my second photographer for the day.
