On a sunny Juneteenth, Alisa and James tied the knot in an intimate Cambridge City Hall wedding.
This stylish couple planned a celebration that was both relaxed and elegant. Getting ready at home surrounded by family and friends, there was a constant bustle of activity, with each arriving guest adding to the atmosphere of excitement.
Their ceremony included a reading by their friend Sandy (whom they credit with the matchmaking) and I loved seeing their excitement and intense connection as they exchanged vows.
After some portraits, the party moved to West Bridge Restaurant, a light-filled modern space, beautifully decorated by the talented team at Foret Design Studio. Guests mingled and enjoyed a delicious luncheon. After the meal, a number of guests shared readings on love (the selections were a surprise to the couple) – a fitting tribute for these two lovers of literature.
As Alisa told me, “We were inspired by the city of Cambridge. It’s the place we met and where we live… We love the diversity, the wisdom, and the warmth of this community.” Those qualities were certainly all on display, and it was a joy to photograph.
