Melissa and David met and live in Texas, but returned to Massachusetts for their wedding at the Corinthian Yacht Club, where David spent summers sailing. While Melissa and her ladies had their hair and make-up done and relaxed on the porch overlooking the harbor with a bottle of wine, David and his guys enjoyed the morning racing at one of the neighboring yacht clubs.
They chose not to see each other before the ceremony, held on the deck of the club. Their rabbi spoke sweetly about how the sky served as their chuppah (their physical one having been forgotten by the rental company) that day, connecting them to the home they have built together in Texas. Their personal vows highlighted their friendship, love and commitment to each other, and included promises for a happy home and future dance parties. They immediately put the vow of dance parties into effect, taking their first choreographed spin on the dance floor to Don’t Stop Believing.
