You know that heart fluttering feeling when you read a love story? I felt that way from the time Erin and Doug told me about their first planned date – just a drink after Erin finished her finals – turned into a two hour dinner and walk home through a snowy Boston. I got that same feeling hearing how they make each other feel safe and loved, and give each other faith that things will work out.
Some of the things that make Erin and Doug happy are fresh air, wide open spaces, and sharing a great meal and good wine with a group of family and friends. They brought these loves to their wedding celebration, with a stop at the historic Powder Point Bridge for photos, cocktail hour overlooking Duxbury Bay at sunset, and a delicious meal served under glowing lanterns at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School.
It was clear during the planning that their families are really important to them. They wanted the day to feel like a family reunion, so they skipped some of the formalities you sometimes see. When I asked about a bouquet toss, the answer made me laugh out loud – “Erin is going to try awfully hard to avoid a bouquet toss, since her throwing anything at a target, let alone backwards, is a sad thing to witness.”

Hi Shannon – yes, the flowers were absolutely gorgeous! They were the creation of Consider the Lilies.
