Kelsey and Greg’s wedding is the second wedding that I’ve photographed at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School. This beautiful and unique south shore venue combines stunning water views with a modern interior.
Kelsey prepared at her parents’ home, in her sunny childhood room. A #throwbackthursday Instagram of Kelsey dressed as a bride for Halloween attested to her long anticipation for this day. Just behind her poised demeanor was a radiant, joyful energy. Her mother and sister helped her into her dress, before she descended to reveal herself -the picture of elegance- to her gathered bridesmaids.
Following the ceremony at the Holy Family Church, we headed to Powder Point Park and Bridge for some portraits. These two love spending time at the beach, and I love how they didn’t hesitate to get a little sandy in pursuit of beautiful wedding portraits.
One of my favorite parts of the day was their reception entrance and first dance; the sheer exuberance on their faces, they way they leaned into each other lingering in the moment, and the triumphant dip at the end to raucous cheers.
We stepped away from the reception to make some portraits around dusk by the water and with the rising moon. During this quiet time, I was taken with Kelsey and Greg’s chemistry and the sweet bond they share. The couple returned to their guests for cake, dancing and merriment.
