Is there anything better than a relaxed afternoon outside with good friends and good drinks? That’s the vibe that Kiersten and Ben wanted to channel for their fall Codman Estate wedding. Plus barbecue, lawn games, and an awesome dance party.
After seven years together, Kiersten and Ben were excited to share a weekend with family and friends as they celebrated their commitment to each other. They’ve been together through grad school and moves and adventures bicycling in different states and countries.
I’m always excited to hear the readings that couples choose to include in their ceremonies. Kiersten and Ben picked out portions of letters between the explorers Lewis and Clark. “Such an undertaking I will cheerfully join you in… and partake of the dangers, difficulties and fatigues, and I anticipate the honors and rewards of the result of such an enterprise, should we be successful in accomplishing it. This is an undertaking freighted with many difficulties, but my friend, I do assure you that no man lives with whom I would prefer to undertake such a trip as yourself.” Marriage is an adventure, a journey undertaken together that requires great risks but promises so many rewards. These two found in each other partners who encourage them to do great things, but also bring great happiness and peace.
