There’s the kind of romance that’s about falling in love – dinners out and day trips and deep conversations. And then there’s the kind of romance of being in love. Actively loving someone, day in and day out, over months and years. Morgan and Andy have been together for 11 years, so at their Hildene wedding, it’s that second kind of love that was aknowledged and celebrated. Their heartfelt vows had many guests tearing up.
Manchester, Vermont is such a quaint New England town, perfect for a weekend’s celebration in September. Morgan got ready at her parents’ home, while Andy was at the nearby Equinox Resort. They had their first look amidst a field of goldenrod on the grounds at Hildene, the trees showing just a hint of fall color.
Everywhere you looked at Hildene there was beauty. Guests walked through the colorful formal gardens to the ceremony site, which offered views of the Green Mountains. Cocktail hour was held on the patio. And as the sun sank below the horizon, the party moved into the tent.
One of the best things about this wedding was seeing all the loving gestures throughout the day. The excitement as Andy swept Morgan off her feet at the end of the ceremony. The pride Morgan’s mom and dad showed during the toasts. The big hugs Andy and his mom shared at the end of the hora and parents dances. The affection between both of their moms, who seemed like best friends. It’s clear that these two have so much love in their lives worth celebrating.
