It’s always an honor to be considered and selected as someone’s wedding photographer – and even more so when the guest list barely breaks the double digits. Mariko and Aaron chose to have their intimate Boston wedding in early November – the first weekend when they could gather together those closest to them. They created a celebration that was personal and non-traditional, that honored their love for each other, their families and friends, and the city of Boston. These two met and fell in love here in Boston, so we visited a few of their favorite places for their wedding portraits. We then headed to Myers + Chang, one of their preferred restaurants, where the ceremony was led by Mariko’s friend. The group enjoyed a multi-course dinner around a table glowing with candles and decorated with flowers arranged by Aaron’s mother and origami made by Mariko’s mother. After the meal, Mariko and Aaron invited their guests back to their apartment for champagne and toasts, and cake served on china from Mariko’s grandmother. Their evening ended with more friends and celebratory drinks at Eastern Standard, another favorite.
