Intimate Adventurous South Dartmouth Wedding

Audrey & Mike

Audrey and Mike’s South Dartmouth wedding on a sandbar at sunset is one of the most unique weddings I’ve been invited to photograph. At its heart, it had everything I love about weddings: a couple deeply in love, families coming together to support them, and a celebration that feels warm and genuine. And the delicious light didn’t hurt.

Like many 2020 couples, this wasn’t the wedding Audrey and Mike had originally planned, but it was still full of magical moments. It was a glorious late July afternoon when everyone gathered to put in the boats and kayak out to a sandbar. Audrey’s father paddled her down the “aisle” and her mother led an emotional ceremony that provided everyone an opportunity to speak and share their wishes for the couple. After the ceremony, the couple shared a toast with their families, along with some appetizers and a surprise cake from Mike’s parents. Audrey, an elementary school teacher, read aloud from “The Owl and The Pussycat.” They chased seagulls with their nephew, danced barefoot in the sand, watched the sunset and paddled back to shore under the light of the moon.

Like I said, magic.
