When I first spoke to Mahvash about photographing their dholki and civil ceremony, she confided that the civil ceremony would have special significance to her because it was to be held on the three year anniversary of the day she and Shorit met. Getting ready that morning, I heard a little bit more about their early relationship. While Shorit was instantly smitten, Mahvash wasn’t so sure. Some months after they met, Mahvash’s father passed away. She spent two months with her family in India, and while she was there Shorit called her twice a day. Her mother and sister, seeing Shorit’s devotion, sat her down and told her that she needed to give him a chance. She returned, they started dating exclusively, and as they say – the rest is history.
P.S. Wondering about the laptop? Shorit’s parents were in India, so joined the ceremony via the computer. Their speeches had everyone in tears.
Kelly… I found you via the Boston Photo Referral group on FB… That photo of the henna hands putting on an earring is one of the most gorgeous wedding detail photos I’ve ever laid eyes on. Beautiful shot!!!!!!! (enter that in a contest!)
