Meredith and I met on our first day as interns at a non-profit in DC, both of us right out of college. She intimidated me (she was in a suit!), but I remember thinking that she and I could be friends. We were both hired on full-time, and our friendship bloomed while we sat next to each other in meetings, ran out for coffee together, frequently visited each others offices, and bonded over a shared love of kale and kombucha. It was at work where she told me about meeting Dave.
Meredith and Dave are a fun-loving pair who together like to explore places near and far, take long bike rides, host potlucks and parties for friends, and visit the Pirate Bar on Valentine’s Day. Fun certainly seemed to be the theme of the day – with pre-ceremony lawn games (sadly cancelled due to rain), a waterglass musician to entertain during cocktail hour, white chocolate capitol building centerpieces which guests were encouraged to snack on, a photobooth, green sunglasses favors, a homemade cake buffet featuring a variety of handmade cake toppers, a rockin’ iPod mix to keep their friends and family on the dance floor, and a tandem-bike-and-sparkler get-away. They incorporated elements of their mixed Jewish and Armenian backgrounds, by having a ketubah, a chuppa, a hand-tying ceremony, and dancing both the hora and the polka!
Meredith and Dave – thank you so much for having me there to photograph your wedding day!
