A few weeks ago, I headed out to Ann Arbor to photograph Anna and Eric’s three-day Polish-American wedding weekend. Because they are based in San Francisco, and we couldn’t quite make our schedules align any earlier, we did their engagement session just a few days before their wedding. Driving straight from the Detroit airport to their Misty Farm engagement session, the sun kept sinking lower and I was in awe of the beautiful light and landscape and so excited to start making some pictures with these two and their cute mini goldendoodle Ollie.
Anna and Eric shared (with a great deal of humor) on their wedding website how they met, so I’m going to borrow their words here as an introduction.
“We met early in our freshman year of college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in rainy, cloudy, windy, frozen-water-of-all-sorts-falling-from-the-sky Troy, New York. (No, neither of us has a soft spot for the weather there)… Sometime in October 2007, we met briefly in the basement laboratory of the RPI Electronics Club, home of some of the nerdiest of nerds on campus. Anna was wearing her purple Botball t-shirt, which sparked Eric’s interest, not because it was particularly flattering (when you’re a lady at an engineering school, you quickly learn to never dress attractively, because you already stand out like a sore thumb), but because he had been on his high school Botball robotics team, too. In fact, we were both captains of our teams, both stayed behind while our teammates battled in the national competition in Hawaii, and both kept a stuffed red Botguy on our shelves in our dorm rooms. There was a lot to talk about!”
Beautiful!! What an awesome couple!!!!
You two are positively glowing! ‘It’s such a delight to see every expression and the lighting my ain’t bad either:)
