Christine is a woman after my own heart. As her brother mentioned in his welcome toast, their parents had raised her to be a strong and independent woman, and she and Michael dearly love their families. Christine carried several talismans with her on this day, tying her to her family and her history: a photograph of her father, a lucky penny for her shoe from her grandmother, and a handkerchief that was over a hundred years old and had been carried by all the brides in her family.
I was struck by the many touching moments throughout the day, from everyone doting on their young son, to their sweet smiles as they exchanged vows and rings, the celebratory hugs following the ceremony, and the emotional dances Christine shared with her grandfather and Michael shared with his mother. There was also a great deal of laughter, especially when Elvis (aka Michael’s brother) showed up for a surprise performance during the reception.
Special thanks to Allana, who photographed alongside me all day.
