“Good food, good music, surrounded by the ones we love.” This is what inspired Rebecca and Michael while planning their intimate Mount Hope Farm wedding in Bristol, RI.
It was a sunny, verdant May afternoon as the pair got ready with their attendants in adjoining rooms at the Inn at Mount Hope Farm. Seeing each other for the first time that day on the lawn, their nerves dissolved into smiles. They couldn’t keep their eyes off each other as we made portraits in the blooming gardens and around the property.
Before the ceremony, Rebecca greeted her father. His face radiated pure happiness and love as he saw her for the first time in her wedding attire, a view guests got to share as he escorted her down the aisle.
There was a feeling of ease throughout the event, as each part of the day flowed smoothly into the next – from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner. Their cocktail hour on the lawn, with guests exchanging hugs and playing corn hole and ladder toss under the slanting rays of the sun, felt like the best kind of backyard party.
Following the toasts, as guests enjoyed dinner in the barn, Rebecca and Michael stole away for a few moments of quiet at dusk. Their easy smiles were a testament to their happiness that day and the connection they share.
They returned to the barn for the cake cutting and parent dances. When the dance floor opened, Michael led the way, instantly pulling Rebecca up for another the dance and showing off moves I never expected from this super smart mathematician.
