I kicked off busy wedding season with Iva and Andrew’s wedding at the historic Omni Parker House in Boston. These two had a long engagement and everything was meticulously planned (unsurprising, given that they are both engineers). It was such a delight to see all of their plans come to life, creating a day that was so full of love to be shared with their families and friends. Of course, the one thing you can’t plan for is the weather in New England, and their early May wedding day was cool, with intermittent rain. We lucked out though with a clear window – and beautiful, soft light – for their portraits outside in Old City Hall Plaza.
Iva and Andrew wear their hearts on their sleeves, and exhibited their deep connection during their emotional first look, and alternated tears and laughter during the ceremony and toasts. They positively glowed with excitement and radiated energy the whole day through. I am always drawn to joy and interactions between people at weddings, but I also love witnessing traditions, and how they connect you to your families and heritage. Iva and Andrew incorporated Albanian customs into their celebration, being fed honey during the ceremony and participating in energetic circle dancing at the reception.
Special thanks to Masao Okano, my second photographer for the day, whose images appear interspersed with my own.

Lovely pictures especially the exit of the ceremony!
