Joe and Marina got married on a mild day in May. These two kind and thoughtful souls planned a celebration that was relaxed and elegant and fun. The day started at a beautiful home overlooking sweeping views of the Atlantic. Marina, surrounded by her friends and helped by her mother, donned a gorgeous dress that harkened to 1930s glamour. After a first look and group portraits, we headed to the Rockport Art Association where they held their ceremony and reception. The aisle was lined with images of their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents – to honor the family marriages that preceded their own. During the ceremony, the officiant shared parts of Marina and Joe’s love story, from a first date neither anticipated being as good as it turned out to be, to a somewhat-spontaneous late-night proposal. Later, Marina and Joe’s favorite funk and soul band – the Chicken Slacks – got their guests up and dancing, from the little flower girls to Marina’s 90-year-old grandmother.
