My wedding season kicks off this weekend. The warm summer months, and the delicious slide into fall, will be devoted to telling the stories of some of the most momentous days. I’ll criss-cross Massachusetts and Rhode Island, documenting couples as they promise their futures, and making images with warmth, truth, and beauty.
This year, I’m excited to return to a number of unique Massachusetts wedding venues, including the Corinthian Yacht Club, Willowdale Estate, Harry Parker Boathouse, Cambridge City Hall, Lyman Estate, MIT Chapel, and the Barn at Crane Estate. I’m also thrilled to photograph weddings at a number of new-to-me venues, including Turner Hill, Tabor Academy, the Boston Public Library, the Waterworks Museum, Herreshoff Marine Museum, Misselwood, the New England Aquarium, Commander’s Mansion, Cape Cod Heritage Museum, Museum of Science and Hope Events on Main.
I love the diversity of locations, from relaxed backyards to the some of Boston’s most iconic venues, from elegant estates, to rustic barns and breezy venues by the water. But location is just one of the things that excite me at a wedding. What truly inspires me are the many incredible moments that I witness. The nervous inhalations, joyful smiles, big hugs, happy tears, shared glances, tender kisses, and exuberant dancing. These days that are so filled with emotion and render me footsore and heart-happy. I am full of anticipation for these moments to unfold in front of my lens!
But of course, my off season wasn’t totally off, and I have a few weddings from early 2018 still up my sleeve to share with you here. Including this joyful New Orleans wedding, complete with a second line parade.
