Spring’s return signals the start of wedding season in New England. While I photographed a few weddings this past winter – with snow-covered grounds and brides wrapped up warmly against the cold – my wedding season doesn’t begin in earnest until this weekend. From this Saturday forward, I’ll be photographing a wedding (or sometimes two) nearly every weekend until the end of October. When most others are planning their vacations, I’m putting in my long hours. Documenting a different love story every weekend. Creating thousands of photos every weekend. Pushing myself to become a better photographer every weekend.
This year, I’m excited to be returning to a number of unique wedding venues at which I’ve previously photographed, including the rustic Friendly Crossways Retreat Center, the elegant Willowdale Estate, the industrial Charles River Museum and the nautical Duxbury Bay Maritime School.
I’m also looking forward to photographing weddings at a number of new-to-me venues, including the Endicott Estate, Cambridge City Hall, Puritan & Company, the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, Codman Estate, Tiverton Meeting House, Harvard Club of Boston, Corinthian Yacht Club, Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Pierce House, and Nahant Country Club. I’m particularly excited to be traveling to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I’ll photograph an entire wedding weekend.
Of course, beautiful locations are just one of the many things that inspire me at a wedding. What truly keeps me going through the long days – that leave me footsore and heart-happy – are the moments that I witness. The excited faces, big hugs, shared looks, tender kisses – every moment filled with emotion. I can’t wait for all these anticipated and unanticipated moments to unfold in front of my lens!
