So many stories weave together on a wedding day as friends and family gather from near and far to witness two people uniting their lives together. Here are some scenes from Dith and Eli’s Willowdale Estate wedding that stand out in my memory:
Dith was very close to her grandmother and had hydrangeas (her grandmother’s favorite flower) in her bouquet as a remembrance.
Eli used his grandfather’s brush while getting ready, and was helped by his brother, mother and groomsmen to get his bowtie just right.
Dith’s mother cried when Dith tried her dress on in the salon, and teared up again on the wedding day, whispering “I love you” as she clasped her pearls around Dith’s neck.
Eli and Dith’s incredibly personal wedding ceremony, with their officiant recounting how they were student body president and chief judicial officer in college (yay nerd love!), how they moved in together, adopted kitties and made it through long-distance for grad school, before getting engaged in their favorite beer store. Personal vows, handmade rings, and a homemade chuppah cover. The proud looks of parents and grandparents, and the hugs and tears and laughs.
Family members providing music during the ceremony and cocktail hour. How many families can boast a string ensemble?
Fun details during the reception that brought a taste of Portland, Oregon’s quirkiness to Boston, including homebrew made by Dith’s bridesman.
Guests who were so enthusiastic about dancing that they boogied between dinner courses and wove between tables during the hora.
From start to finish, it was an incredible day. Thank you Eli and Dith for allowing me to document it for you!
