When Emily arrived at the Willowdale Estate, one of her first stops was to set up the cake. You see, she made it herself: two tiers of white cake, with passionfruit curd and vanilla bean flecked buttercream. Emily is a talented baker – and Matt is always happy to taste-test her creations.
After donning her elegant gown, and enjoying a pour of bourbon, Emily walked to meet Matt on the shaded boardwalk. One of the great things about first looks is that they give you a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of getting ready for a little quiet time to connect with your partner.
The ceremony was held in the picturesque courtyard and led by Emily’s brother. He told the guests about Matt and Emily‘s long relationship, how they are true partners and part of each other’s families. After exchanging vows and rings, Matt gave the guests a spontaneous thumbs up.
During the reception, guests sipped signature cocktails designed by Matt. They got the party started with a hora – something that always looks equal parts exhilarating and terrifying. It was a special treat to have so many friends in the crowd – and putting my cameras down for the last hour to dance along with them.
