Is there anything better than having a beach all to yourself? Or starting out on a drive with a vague destination in mind, and letting your whims carry you to new places? For my birthday this week, Ian and I drove north. There are so many cute towns and places that I visit for weddings in Massachusetts, but haven’t explored on my own. So we set out on 128. After roaming around Rockport and enjoying a lunch of raw oysters and a lobster roll for me and hotdogs for Ian (we do have very different tastes), we pulled up a map on my phone and asked, where next? Good Harbor Beach was just a few miles away. As we neared our destination, it was as if the clouds descended, enveloping us in a pale quiet. Just the two of us with the sand, seagulls, and salty air.
