Boston College Wedding

Meg & Eddie

Meg and Eddie are college sweethearts. They met at a party at Boston College, and after many years of dating, were excited to bring everyone together in Boston to celebrate their Waterworks Museum wedding last summer. It was a day that was equal parts elegant and fun.

The day arrived, and with it rain. These two have a calm confidence, but as they got ready, their excitement bubbled to the surface and lit up their rooms. I especially loved the moment when Meg’s friend saw her in her dress for the first time and couldn’t quite hold back the tears.

Meg and Eddie shared their first look on the Boston College campus, and we used the elegant arches and iconic buildings to make portraits of the two of them and their families and wedding party. Luck smiled on us, and the rain cleared as we were finishing. This let us make some more relaxed portraits along Linden Lane before heading to their ceremony at BC’s Saint Ignatius Church. As they were exchanging rings, Eddie’s accidentally ended up on his right hand. After their kiss and walk back up the aisle, they righted the mistake and Meg put the wedding band on Eddie’s left ring finger.

Meg and Eddie love history and museums and so chose the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum in Chestnut Hill for their reception, knowing it would be a fun place for their guests to explore. This was my first time photographing there, and it has to be one of Boston’s most unique wedding venues, with soaring ceilings and huge industrial engines. I loved incorporating this backdrop into images of their first dance as well as additional portraits.

Meg and Eddie share such a sweet connection, and really light up around each other. I loved seeing Meg and Eddie out on the dance floor together and with all their BC friends. Two of my very favorite images came at the end of the night – their sparkler exit, and then the moment alone together at the back of their party bus.
